1983-90: Electrical engineering department supervisor for Pentek Corp., Indianapolis, IN. Designed the first work-in-process Order Tracking system (FDCS) for use in the corrugated container industry; this system utlilized a PC/PLC system to monitor and control the material movement in a conveyorized corrugated plant. As accessories to the Order Tracking system, designed the Pentek PIOS station for operator interface and a multi-port serial communication controller (PCI board) to interface the PIOS stations to the PLC. Designed the first automatic identification system using bar coded load tags in the finished goods strapping department of a corrugated plant. Specified and designed communication software protocols to interface PC's with serial devices including bar code readers, mainframe computers, sheet downstackers, and load tag printers. Traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, and Australia to supervise the commissioning and operator training of full plant material handling systems.

January 1990: Founded Control Engineering Corp., a company whose emphasis as a system integator is to apply the technologies of bar coding, radio frequency terminals, PC's, and programmable controllers, with software designed to meet the customer's needs, to achieve efficient material handling systems.
